Spruce Pine, North Carolina, USA

Our product starts life in a small, 3.9 square mile town in the Appalachian Mountains, 780m above sea level. Thanks to its unique geological history, the world’s purest quartz deposits can be found in this mountainous region.

COATINGS

Good dispersability, high chemical inertness, stable pH, high resistance to abrasion and low viscosity makes our Minspar feldspar products ideal for use in coatings.

TABLEWARE

Minspar feldspar offers good fusibility to produce products without defects.

ENGINEERED STONE

Our sand mined in Spruce Pine has excellent visual and physical properties, which help to make the engineered stone slabs more durable, more flexible, and harder than natural stone products.

RUBBER & ELASTOMERS

Minspar feldspar offers good disperability, high chemical inertness, a stable pH, high resistance to abrasion, and low viscosity when added to rubbers and elastomers.

TILES

Minspar feldspar is used as a flux, lowering the vitrifying temperature of a ceramic body during firing and forming a glassy phase while providing a white fired colour.

SANITARYWARE

Minspar feldspar is used as a flux, lowering the vitrifying temperature of a ceramic body during firing and forming a glassy phase.

FIBRE GLASS

Minspar is used as a fluxing agent in fibre glass, reducing the melting temperature of quartz and helping to control the viscosity of the glass.

ELECTRICAL PORCELAIN

Minspar feldspar has very high consistency, high levels of plasticity, and high mechanical strength, making it ideal for use in electrical porcelain.

ROOF COATINGS

Minspar feldspar offers colour consistency, excellent tint retention, ease of dispersion, resistance to fading, chalking and cracking, as well as excellent exterior durability and chemical resistance to roof coatings.
